Partners for Change was set up to care for children across the horn of Africa. So we are delighted to start working with the Barwaaqo Voluntary Oganisation in Hargeisa, Somaliland. ‘Barwaaqo’ is a Somali word meaning prosperity, but much more than material prosperity, its the longing for a good and dignified style of life for all. BVO was founded in 1996 to build strong communities in an area devastated by war and famine. It is especially concerned for the rights of women and children. In an area with frequent drought, climate change adaptation is also a priority.
