The 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are an urgent call for action by all countries to end poverty. At PFC Ethiopia, we are committed to contribute to this vision and our projects support the achievement of several SDG goals.
We have worked with SDG Vision https://sdg.vision/ for several years to ensure that each of our projects aligns with the SDG goals.
Read below how our projects aligns with specific SDG goals
BREAKFAST CLUBS
Our breakfast club project aligns with SDGs 2, 3, 4, 5 and 8. Our project provides nourishing breakfast meals to children which improves their health and wellbeing, quality education, increases access to school for girls and enables families to set up sustainable income generating activities.
WOMEN’S SELF HELP GROUPS
Women’s self help groups enable women to set up businesses and support their children better. They also build more equal and just communities in which the rights of all, especially children, are respected.
INTERNALLY DISPLACED PERSONS (IDPs)
IDP camps help people forced from their homes through conflict to build new communities with houses, clean water, good schools, and small businesses which are integrated into the local economy.
We support IDP children, women, youths and vulnerable people to improve their livelihood opportunities. Our intervention aims to improve their quality of life through a range of training to develop new skills and knowledge areas including finance. We also work to improve the integration of IDPs and host communities through regular interactions and engagement in cultural events. Our intervention helps to resolve conflict, build peace and justice in local communities.
